Tobias Renkel took over as Sales Director in October 2011. He focused on expanding the branch network, sales structure, and employee recruitment and development. At the end of the 2015 financial year, Mr. Renkel was promoted to Managing Director of the Sales Division. In 2017, he took over as sole Managing Director.
Dogan Kümetepe took over as Regional Manager South at Pfando in September 2015. He coordinated all sales-related matters for six branches in southern Germany and built up his team, which became the most successful in the company. Mr. Kümetepe took over as sales director in April 2016 and has since been responsible for the entire sales region with five departments and more than 80 employees.
René Tomaschewski took over as Head of Financial Accounting in August 2017. He focused on making Pfando fit for the future with new financial accounting software. After a short break, Mr. Tomaschewski was promoted to Head of Sales in June 2020. Since then, he has been responsible for the entire administration with five departments and 25 employees. Mr. Tomaschewski was granted power of attorney in August 2021.
Development/History
Pfando was founded in November 2010 in innovative Berlin and has been growing organically ever since. To ensure the company's long-term success, emphasis has been placed on the comprehensive digitization of business processes from the very beginning.
Since 2010, the digitization process has been optimized through, among other things, the further development of our own CRM system and our customer application. Using this CRM system, we are able to centrally manage all processes in our branches throughout Germany in order to combine the traditional branch structure with modern digital efficiency.
Thanks to our branches throughout Europe with trained staff, our unique selling point is that our customers receive cash within 60 minutes and can continue to use their vehicle as usual. Proximity to the customer plays an important role here, which we guarantee by constantly expanding our branch network.
In order to continuously raise awareness of our product, we have focused our marketing activities on the digital and television sectors in cooperation with competent partners. We also support our employees and continuously develop them so that they always meet market requirements.
Pfando continues to grow: As of November 2025, we have five branches in Austria. This means that we can now offer our Austrian customers fast liquidity with the same level of mobility – and continue our international expansion.
The Pfando Group is expanding its portfolio of products for payments up to €2,000 with the cash & drive FLEX contract model. In addition to maximum flexibility thanks to shorter durations, our customers can, as usual, benefit from unrivalled liquidity within 60 minutes.
Our international expansion continues in 2025: we now welcome customers from Switzerland to our newly opened branches in Zurich, Bern, Basel, and Geneva.
Especially in times of economic hardship, it is all the more important to support the weakest members of society: this year, the Pfando Group and its employees once again donated a mid-five-figure sum to organizations such as ARCHE Berlin, the Stiftung Kinderherz foundation, Deutsche Kinderhilfswerk, and various animal shelters.
Another milestone has been reached: the opening of the Bonn branch marked the opening of our 50th branch in Germany. By being closer to our customers, we will continue to ensure that our customers are supplied with short-term liquidity even faster and more easily throughout Germany.
With our recently opened branches in Hamburg East, Lübeck, and Paderborn, we are introducing our customers to our newly developed branch concept for even greater comfort. For the fourth time, the Pfando team competed in the Promi Darts WM in January 2024. With Jürgen Milski and world champion Luke Humphries, we once again had a strong line-up in 2024.

After broadcasting more than 60,000 TV commercials over the past three years, it was time for a new advertising campaign: the commercials "Junge" and "Schwiegermutter," which were created in Hamburg in collaboration with Lothar Matthäus, showcase our company's development and quality standards.

2023 is marked by further expansion: from March onwards, we look forward to welcoming our customers to our newly opened branches in Ulm, Münster, and Dresden.
After a three-year break caused by the pandemic, the time has finally come again – our Pfando.de team with Bülent Ceylan and Gerwyn Price made it to the final with ease and became vice world champions at the Promi-Darts WM 2023 world championship for celebrity darts players!

The 8th Senate ruled that there had been no violation of Section 34(4) of the GewO and therefore no violation of the prohibition on trading in repurchases. The German Supreme Civil Court thus answered this fundamental and long-disputed legal question and created legal certainty for the future.
Thanks to our new headquarters in Rostock, we are now also on site for our customers on the Baltic Sea coast.
Pfando is helping out again and donating €26,500 to Arche to provide food and supplies for refugee families from Ukraine.
Pfando continues to expand its network of branches and is now also represented by a branch in Karlsruhe.
In addition to a corporate donation of €60,000 to Arche and approximately €6,000 to the Stiftung Kinderherz foundation, a generous donation from Pfando employees resulted in approximately €4,500 being donated to the social organizations Bärenfamilie and Franziskustreff.
To convince strategic partners and potential new employees about our company, we created a new image video. Its content focused on our unique success story and our values and vision for the future.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. For this reason, we have had our customer service processes audited by TÜV Rheinland. We are proud to now hold the "Certified Service Quality" certificate. In the future, we will continue to continuously develop our processes through annual audits.

The new Pfando app is now available for free in the App Store. With this app, our customers can quickly and easily view their contract details and check their bonus point balance. This means customers always have up-to-date information and can secure great rewards.

During the COVID pandemic, we have also accomplished a great deal for our customers: We have updated all of our branches, relocated to two new locations (Hamburg and Düsseldorf), and will soon be opening additional branches in Braunschweig, Mönchengladbach, and Saarbrücken. This year, we have once again demonstrated our commitment to social issues: The Pfando team is donating €80,000 to various foundations for children in need.
Of this amount, €4,650 was donated to the Stiftung Kinderherz foundation to support optimal treatment and care for children with heart disease.

Amidst all these successes, one thing must not be forgotten: Giving is a virtue! This year, Pfando donated more than €53,000 to organizations such as the Frankfurt Children's Cancer Aid and the German Animal Welfare Association.
Our store concept was first implemented in Cologne. In addition to their very exclusive locations, our stores feature a new stylish design and the use of high-quality materials.

Every employee can get a company car if they want one! Our company fleet now consists of 25 BMWs.
Our extraordinary growth has necessitated a reorganization of our CRM system, which will help us work even more efficiently.
Our team now consists of more than 50 employees. Throughout our development, it is primarily our employees who have made this growth possible.
Our sales office in Frankfurt am Main is also moving. The entire sales department has now found a location that offers the technical infrastructure necessary for our continued growth.
We have managed to secure Ailton as our testimonial for two years.
Strong growth requires strong partners! At the beginning of 2018, we commissioned HAVAS, the world's largest owner-managed advertising agency, to manage a seven-figure marketing budget with the aim of further increasing awareness of our brand.
Our headquarters will therefore move to Hohenzollerndamm in Berlin in mid-2017. All administrative staff work here with full commitment to perform their tasks to the best of their ability.

Using our own Pfando app for iOS/Android, customers can now download their bonus point rewards themselves, receive rental reminders, and participate in prize competitions and promotional events.

5 years of Pfando!
Thanks to the entire team, we can look back on incredible growth during our first 5 years! Pfando now has 17 branches, 40 employees, and more than 5,000 satisfied customers.
We are now also available in person to customers in Hamburg, Leipzig, Mannheim, Bielefeld, Wiesbaden, Düsseldorf, Magdeburg, and Dortmund.
Pfando is the first company in the industry to broadcast a TV commercial on DMAX.
With the opening of branches in Nuremberg, Kassel, Hanover, Cologne, and Bremen, we now have 10 branches close to our customers.
In future, for every contract concluded, a donation of one euro will be made to the Stiftung Kinderherz foundation to help achieve its goals. By mid-2019, €29,581 had already been raised in this way.
Since 2012, thanks to our branches in Munich and Stuttgart, we have also been easily accessible to our customers in southern Germany.
